The Whorington

The interview I did for Lemara's "Philadelphia People" was posted at another UK blog called the Whorington. They blog about fashion, art and UK stuff. Im excited about some UK love. Painted Philly interview

Erica sent me an email a week or so back for the interview on her blog Painted Philly. She has done other interviews with other artists like UWP and Ticky. Thanks to Erica and her editing skills cuz i know i rant alot on certain topics.  So if you're curious on my feelings on street art and find out more info on the beast known as EL TORO, definitely read the interview here. 

Oh and sorry for the lack of updates, hit up the twitter if your wondering what the hell i've been doin instead of not updating the blog. All i can say for now is that, this new project is bigger than what i expected, but would be awesome if we can pull it off. Stay tuned for more details as i try and figure shit out. 

Playhouse!

When I was still in the Philippines, my mom would tape Saturday morning cartoons in the United States and would ship them to me to watch. So I was lucky enough to experience Pee Wee's playhouse as a kid growing up. I always thought he had the best characters in the show. I got my girlfriend 2 of the box sets that has like 7 seasons in total. She also has some of the original playhouse toys. This was totally her idea to do a Pee Wee inspired canvas. This was a late addition to the FWB show, that's why Josh is not in this collab.

RUSKO AT WEBSTER HALL, NYC

Rusko is rocking my tee from Methods NYC while he performed at Webster Hall last weekend. Crazy how he picked my design out of the stock pile of shirts Methods has to offer. So excited that he picked mine and all the kids in the crowd were checking that shit out. Check out the rest of the fliks and videos from the event on the  Methods NYC Blog.

Transformers War for Cybertron

I LOVE that they used the old sounds from the G1 Cartoon and also that raspy voice for the intro. Classic G1 cartoon feel to the whole thing with bigger explosions and better animation. Also, noticed that Cybertron itself is a transformer, one scene when Optimus was riding to stop Starscream, the planet looked like it was transforming new roads. I am super stoked to see this come out. They haven't made a quality Transformer game ever! That ps2 game was ok cuz you could transform at will, but the game play got really old. I heard this 1 you can transform at will and you can also be a flying decepticon. That's gonna freakin rule! oh and 2 story modes 1 for Autobot and 1 for Decepticons. Obviously im gonna beat the Decepticons story line first.

Friends with Benefits video from opening night

I love the new HBO series "How to make in America". The intro song by Aloe Blacc is so appropriate and very contagious once you hear it. I had to do my own rendition and sync it to the pictures from the opening night. The series really inspires you to get your hustle on and go after your dream. I know its just a show, but it really hits home. The struggles getting to your goal just makes it getting there feels so much better. Thank you Lemara and Landon for providing the pics.

We lay out the all of the canvases on the floor before we hang to see the colors and how each piece interacts with one another once they are close.

Setting up

This is one of the fun and stressful time of the show. Laying a show out has always been a fun and stressful process. You always want to WOW the audience and also tell a story with the paintings. I love when you  capture their attention and they move on and then when they come back they appreciate something new that they missed. With 50+ canvases things got a lil hectic laying this show out.  Thanks to all the people who showed up and supported us.
