Red Furry & the MUGGS

canvas & toys, originally uploaded by frost215.

Since the purple furry got stolen, this is the new red edition. Still having a blast doing these guys, it took a few hours to get the colors i want. it totally changed from the first color option i was thinking about. Its sometimes hard to get the colors that i was picturing in my head to come out the same when i paint. ended up changing the color a few times before i ended up with this.

ENJOY the holidays!

Aint no such things as halfway crooks...

I got invited by Rick to be a featured artist at this months Peel Here 08 in California this year. I ended up sending them 2 small canvases and a butt load of stickers. During the night of the event though, something horrible happend and 1 of my canvases got stolen from the wall. It didn't stop there, Under Water Pirate's canvas also got stolen and a customized munny. Now i know these art shows attract vandals and people who break the law on a daily basis, but I didn't know that they started to turn on their own kind. It was very disappointing to hear this coming from such a great show. Rick from PeelHere has been kind enough to compensate me for my losses. Its such a shame that times are hard like this, that people will steal from their own kind. Your suppose to support the movement, not hinder it. The canvas got stolen is the purple furry TORO pictured below. Thanks 14bolt for the shot! If you are reading this, enjoy your stolen canvas. Your obviously a fan, but not enough to show support.

On the flip side of things, you are slick enough not to get caught. We should start a gang of thieves together. I'll need your expertise on my team. Now I just gotta find a driver, a strong man, a hacker and a hot chick that can blow shit up.

The holiday season is upon us (i know kinda late on this) and you guys are running around with out a clue on what to get that special some one. I suggest buying art and not another sock or sweater they'll never wear. Invest in art. It brightens up any white wall in your house and is a great way to show your support haha

These are the canvases from the Abakus show last September. If you were bummed about missing out on the event, now you can purchase something to take home and enjoy!

These are the cans that were available at the Abakus show. Limited to 60 pieces. All cans are signed and numbered. Each can is unique and no 2 are the same.

Marker on wood isn't easy. It bleeds out and makes a horrible outcome if you don't approach it correctly. This one was so much fun to do and took some time on getting it not to bleed everywhere.

I love typography. Letters are sexy to me. This is a woodburn piece full of some sexy swoops, drips and ligatures.

EL PISTOLERO! Move out the way before you get into the line of fire! My favorite part of this pieces is the gold in the hand gun. When hung, that gold just pops from the piece. PEW! PEW! PEW!

This is the 1st piece that ignited the show for Abakus. It also led to labeling a beer with the same name. Although their are no beers left, I will throw in an empty bottle of EL BORRACHO for display. Also, some stickers of the labels. Only this canvas will get those stickers.

Viva La Zapata! Fight for your rights and don't let any one pressure you into doing something you don't want to. Fight till you can. Burn the city if you must!

My other nautical themed canvases from Abakus. The 8 armed blue octopus is kind to those who believe, but will suck up sailors down below if they don't. Also, you can never get away from the all seeing eye.

All canvases are shipped via USPS and includes stickers and pins!

These pieces are available for purchase. Please email me at for any inquiry about any of the pieces.

Who you gonna call?

Stay PufToro, originally uploaded by frost215.

Oh no its Stay PufToro!!!

Made this guy for the Remix show over at 1733 Chestnut st. Final piece is an 8x10 printed and matted and got sold that night! Awesome to the max! There was tons of people that showed up to support the event and a few of Phillies local sticker community came out for support. Two 8.5x11 sheets of sticker paper got passed around for everyone to drop a lil something on it. Great work by alot of talented guys, UWP and Nose dropped a few solid gems that I didn't get a pic of. Great job by everyone though that night, alot of the pieces sold and it was nice to see everyone again under the same roof.

If your interested for a print, dont hesitate to drop me a line.

Things are picking up back at the Lab and even though i should be diligently working, I have a few things that always keeps me distracted. 1st is my love of good television. It's hard to find good tv. If its not reality or a celebrity show acting a fool, it usually flies right under the radar. Here are a few shows that you may wanna check out that's quality and worth watching.

Monday nights

Heroes on NBC.

Gotta love this, its like X-Men, but with less emphasis on being mutants but "special". Awesome powers to a guy that can stop time, a guy that can fly, a mad scientist, a girl who cant feel pain, a guy that can absorb powers and also a guy that can take away powers. There's more heroes/villains than that, so you just gotta watch it to catch up. Here's the last ep. If you haven't u should really start from the 1st and skip the 2nd season. Then watch the 3rd. That's when things are actually picking up and people are using their powers to fight. Even though i think it could still use more fighting.

Tuesday nights

I got nothing on TV for Tuesdays. I usually catch up on weekend shows i mightve missed. Gotta love OnDemand.

Wednesday nights

Sons Of Anarchy

If you liked the Sopranos, you have to love this new show. It's the first season and its seriously kicking some ass. First off Peggy Bundy plays a bad ass in this. She does not take any shit. One episode she hits a chick in the face with a skateboard and cracked her nose to shit. The story line is that this local biker gang "Sons of Anarchy" is in charge of a local town called Charming and has to fight some of the law ( some cops are on the take) and also fellow biker gangs around the area. Each side is equally represented. Each episode gets you closer to the innner workings of the whole Biker family and how they operate behind the curtains. Their are tons of bikes, dudes in leather jackets and some good action. 1 scene was a former member got tied up to a car lift and had the choice of either getting his back either carved or burned to shit. The rule was once u get kicked out you have to completely black out your patch on the back. It's the same logo they have on their leather jackets, but tattooed on their back. He chose to get it burned off.

Thursday nights

This is my fave. tv night. It starts on NBC and carries over to FX.

My name is Earl
A great show in it's 4th season i think. If you haven't heard, Jason Lee plays Earl who was a lowlife crook in the beginning of the series, but learned about karma when he was lying on a hospital bed because he got hit by a car after he realized he won the lottery. He makes a list of all things he has done bad and goes on by trying to make right and make up to the people he has done wrong in the past. Great premise for a show simply cuz they can bring on any special guests they want and have ridiculous story line.

Kath & Kim
I gotta be honest the first time i heard bout this i thought it was a "chick" show at first, but dammit its high-larious. Molly Shannon is great in this. I used to not like her, but this role is perfect. Plus theirs the white scrawny guy from Wildin' Out. He's funny when he's on camera. It references alot of Hollywood stereotype jokes. It was an Australian series that got adapted for a U. S audience. Kinda like the Office. and well u know how funny that show is. If not i got that down below too. Molly Shannon just found her perfect fairy tale wedding dress and its a Lil Bo Peep dress.

The Office
If you don't know about this show already then your out of the loop. Hilarious office antics and office romances. Great show.

30 Rock
I came on late with this show. I started watching it the 2nd season simply because i thought it was a L.A Law or Law N Order type of show. WAAAAY OFF! This show is fuckin great. Tracy Morgan is awesome in this show and ofcourse Tina Fey is a brilliant actress and writer. Throw in the good Baldwin and you got your self a WINNER! With a new season ahead and prolly a bigger budget from all those awards, they are bringing in guest stars left and right. Great supporting cast and definitely a classic in the making. This makes fun of all the behind the scenes that goes on NBC studios. At first it was about a SNL type show and the crazy-ness they gotta do to put on a show, but lately it's becoming more personal story lines between each cast member. Just watch it

Always Sunny in Philadelphia on FX
I am obsessed with this show. This is the best show on tv in my opinion. It has the great formula Seinfeld implemented. 3 guys and 1 girl all are jerks, but you love to hate them. The seaon is ending tomorrow with a musical about Day Man ( Fighter of the Night man, master of karate) This season has been a ridiculous roller coaster of story lines from "The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell" to " Who Pooped on the Bed". They also talked about cannibalism, being a bum and viral videos. Great cast of character that also write and produce. Also, the fact that its a hilarious comedy being shot in Philadelphia is a great great perk. They shoot in the area and they are super nice guys. Got to meet up with a few of them when they are shooting and they love their fans. I leave you with the song Night Man & Day Man.

Usually not around the night to watch shows, but I do dvr and catch up on some through OnDemand.

Star Wars The Clone Wars

Im not a star wars geek, but i do love some good action. I watched the animated clone wars by the dude who animated Samurai Jack (also a great show) and then the CGI movie. This takes place after the movie and ties in the old & new star wars story line. Only a half hour, so it has to be very quick and action packed. Here's Yoda kickin some droid ass!

If you liked the movie, this is equally as good. Just a longer version of the major fuck ups and stories crossing over of the movie. Dennis Hopper is the biggest star of this series. They have alot of guys that i have never seen. maybe b movies? I know the asian dude from the 1st Fast and the Furious is in it playing an EMT. The writing is pretty good especially for the stuff Dennis Hopper comes out with. His character is slightly insane/retarded and pure genious all in 1. This is in Starz. So you gotta subscribe to it to be able to watch it.

To wrap up the week, you start off with FOX's animation domination. Starting with the Simpsons.

The Simpsons

Still on after 19 years. Practically my whole life. I got raised by the morals of Homer and crazy antics of Bart.
Some say the writing has fallen off, but since the movie got put out i think the animation has just been stepped up and can definitely see the difference. The writing on the other hand is a hit or miss, but i am loyal and can not say anything horrible about this show. Keep putting out more great shows! Bring back Futurama!!!!

King of the Hill

I heard this may be there last season. I am not an avid follower, but when i do watch it im never disapointed. The animation could be alot better, but the writing is hilarious. It's a great sneak peek of how life down in Texas really is.

Family Guy
A must watch show. Can't get enough of their pop culture references and hilarious antics. An awesome episode down below from this season...cuz unless you havent heard....the bird is the word!

Looking for pointers on how to be a great serial killer? Watch Dexter! This show is so demented at points that you start feeling something for a murderer who has to kills because its a necessity. Dexter is the killer of killers. If you slip through the system, Dexter is their to pick up the crumbs. ( can you tell im running out of steam on these reviews? haha)

True Blood

HBO's newest series about Vampires. Vampires have come out of hiding and can now drink synthetic blood to keep them alive, making them safer for humans. An entertaining show set down south. Rouge from X-Men is the main character and she falls in love with a local vampire. You get to see the interactions between the town folks and how a vampire is accepted, u also see how Vampires react to this new "coming out of the coffins" issue between them and the humans and also some humans are fucked up enough that they drink vampire blood to get high. Blood and boobs are always a guarantee for each episode. Suki (Rogue aka Anna Paquin) is a southern belle with the vampire bf. She also has a best friend who's Mom got an exorcism via Voodoo Priestess, a brother who is a sex addict and a v addict (thats vampire blood) and then her bf Bill who is the local vampire with the heart of gold. I like the similarities they are trying to accomplish with racism down south and how it pertains to vampires and just different people in general. I was iffy at first with this series, but its clearly in the line up for things to watch.

, originally uploaded by oh you.

A fan from Philly started to cross stitch Philly street artists and she chose to do an EL TORO. This is her 2nd attempt and it came out awesome. She even got the same colors i use on the stickers. She's doing more Philly street artist in her cross stitch collection. I saw a Bob in the works. Nice to see some new mediums being crossed over with what was once just markers and sticker paper on the streets.

T and P fine art

Front sign, originally uploaded by frost215.

A new gallery just opened up in South Philadelphia this weekend and man was it a kick ass show. Out of respect, their are no photos of the stuff in the event because it was soooo good u have to check it out yourself.

The story is pretty damn awesome. The owners are both from Philly and LA. They love the street art community and wanted to showcase some new raw talent coming up and also some seasoned veterans. I met both the owners and they are the most down to earth people and has so much love for the gallery cuz they are truly just big fans themselves. Gina their gallery manager, absoultey did a great job hanging and showcasing the pieces. Their was also free booze and food at the opening. You can't beat something like that.

Finally, something like this have hit Philly. Don't get me wrong, Lineage when it was in Philly, was a great place to catch some highly talented individuals from across the world, but the location and price that went along with Lineage was i think its complete downfall. T and P on the other definitely did not feel like Lineage, it was a new blood coming into the gallery scene and revitalizing the street art/lowbrow appreciation in Philadelphia. T and P felt like the missing puzzle piece for Philadelphia street art and appreciation to grow further and get noticed by other cities. Philly loves the raw and real talent being featured outside our cities, but now its here and we are all excited about it.

Check out their site at T and P Gallery they have tons of new events already planned in the near future. So i hope to see you there on the next opening!

Some art outside of the gallery too!

Having more fun with some fuzzy Toros lately. I imagine them being a lost species of EL TORO's who haven't been domisticated and haven't lost their long fur. They are primal! Remember Primal Instinct video game? That was the shit on super nes. Where else could you get a monkey and a dinosaur to fight?! I know theirs RAMPAGE where a dinosaur and a monkey are present, but they never really fought.

Anyways..enjoy the new stickers!

the guys at 215magazine kindly invited me to be part of their Bowl for Pres show this upcomiing election day. The guys at the Renegade art project got local artists involved to participate in a customization of their fist icon. They have been popping up on the streets of Philly for about 2 years now and even in some bars are welcoming the fist as a part of their own decor. For more info on this event please visit

Also, make sure you get out on Nov. 4th and vote!

Black Buffet

Love em or hate em. Sean "diddy" Combs or whatever name he chooses when he wakes up is a smart and powerful business man. You dont gotta agree with his songs, but his wealth and his empire speaks louder than he ever can (and you thought that was impossible)

Today he announced that he bought the clothing brand enyce (pronounced En-i-ché) First time hearing the correct pronounciation of that brand. He talks alot in the video below, but theirs a couple points where he just goes off and blabs on how enyce and diddy will be eating fried chicken and champagne cuz enyce is now in his kitchen. Weird i know, but this man hustles. Its 5 am and he's talking like he's been awake for hours! How does he survive? I keep going back to that Nas quote "sleep is the cousin of death" but damn! man u need rest. atleast take some naps. The man is a hustler and definitely building an empire no one saw coming when he was still rapping with Mase and waving his rollies from side to side. Respect to Sean Combs, hopefully get there some day. I know this sounds like a plug for the I wanna work for Didddy tv show, but it aint. Giving props to where its due. Enjoy the show. Oh and incase your wondering who or what Black Buffet is...Puffy woke up and decided on that name this morning.

Sticker FIghter 215 edition

Blanka!!!, originally uploaded by frost215.

Been seeing the previews for the new Street Fighter and it looks amazing! Cant believe that its released in Asia right now and we are left waiting anxiously here in the states. GIVE IT TO US NOW!!!

Been playing since the 2nd one came out and the whole franchise was just so great to follow since then. Developing more and better characters. Except for T.Hawk, he sucked. Not caused he's Native American, can't you tell with that clever name? but we would just karate chop and slide across the screen with his Canadian Tuxedo vest. It was horrible.

Blanka on the other hand will pounce on you, bite your face off and jump off you while kicking you down at the same time. Freakin awesome. Although, their is a new character called EL FUERTE. A luchador has come in the ranks and will definitely have to prove himself in combat. Cant wait for the video game to drop! im such a geek.

METHODS NYC & SMIFF N WESSON, originally uploaded by frost215.

Dave from Methods said that when Smiff N Wesson was choosing a shirt to rock for the photo shoot, they went straight to the EL TORO tee for the fall. I heard of them before, but to be honest, don't know much about their music. I do know they have been in the game for a while and gotta respect that.

The graphic on the shirt came out bigger than expected. Really dope! Im a big fan of huge graphics on a shirt. The inks they use are also thick and when you wear the shirt it feels like armor. Heavy weight tee with a heavy ink just blankets ur whole torso.

It's dropping in a few days. Stay tuned!

Stupid Fresh!

Amanda & EL TORO, originally uploaded by frost215.

This picture sums it all up. It was an awesome night and great people showed up. It turned out to be a successful night for Abakus and I that night. PBR was flowing like water and we even got a dude puking by the end of the night. Always a good sign that you threw a kick ass party. 12 fresh new canvases for the masses and so far 3 got sold that night. Get there before you miss out on the one you want! The show is up for a month, so definitely check it out if you missed the opening. There will be more in the future!

Thanks again to the whole Abakus Family, Matt from & especially my girl Amanda who was there through the beginning of this whole show and was just there for me when I needed her. Thanks and enjoy the pictures. Uploading more from everyone once they come in.

My buddy Brad from Phillyskyline has posted something about the show today. Phillyskyline is an awesome blog on Philadelphia. I dont know how they get a ridiculous amount of great shots of buildings, especially when the Comcast building was in construction. He has that whole building documented from the ground up. Also, dig deep enough and you will see his photo essays on different blocks in Philadelphia. Awesome photogrpahy, great intelligent content, this blog surely can't be missed.

The guys at Toys R Evil, kindly posted something about the show on their blog today. This blog is great, it just doesnt cover the designer toy market, but also covers regular toys and movies. I always visit them atleast once a day to get the latest and greatest news from the toy world. They recently just posted great pictures of the My Little Pony project, so if you can't make it tonight (sept. 18) you can view the participants. Oddly enough some celebrity are going to be in the house and John Stamos is listed. Uncle freakin' Jessie. How cool is that? I want him to come to the Stupid Fresh show!

A beast roams at FDR

Beast of burden, originally uploaded by frost215.

Sightings of a slow movin beast thats rummaging around FDR park.

Had some leftover cans that needed to be emptied for the Abakus show. Got to FDR and met this gnarly dude Houdini.

Houdini pointed to a spot that was full of just scribbles and also a spot where the skaters wouldn't use. Real awesome dude, he rides a body board that's hollowed out with a skateboard underneath. Also, does the old school waves around FDR. Real retro and classic lookin. He even got it featured at one of the Tony Hawk games. While painting, he got all up in some young dude just taggin up the park. The young kid mistakenly went over his piece and got a real reality check. Respect the game kid or it will fight back.
Also, Houdini borrowed a can of black paint to cross out his ex's phone number he put up around the park. Supposedly if your lookin for a good time, you should call her. Apparently, she was getting phone calls at 4am and she's calling him right after to complain. First off, some one actually calls those phone numbers written on the walls? Secondly, are you actually thinking your going to have a good time. Finally, did this ever work back in the day? Some sort of hippie code for some sexy time back in the day?

All in all, good day and if you want to find out what meal to eat before painting, i suggest this one.

Another one bites the dust...

Reaper TORO coming in full effect and killing the whackness in the streets. The new Fall 08 Dreams & Nightmares line from Methods NYC will be featuring these 3 dynamic shirts. Each flavor caters to the individuals on the streets. Even though the shirts aren't loud in color the graphic will surely slice through people retinas and demand their attention short after.

Dropping in October, cop em at ur local bodega street wear shop (u gotta support the locals) and if ur in a town with out one, just head on over to Methods NYC and order from there.

Stay tune cuz their will be more shirts coming!

Still toying around with a name, but here's a preview of what the label's main graphic will be. This will be for the Abakus show on Sept. 27th. It's going to be a doozy. Im pulling all the strings i could for this one, cashing in my chips as they say. It's going to be exciting to see everyone at the show. sorry for the slow updates. will be getting back to the blogging world more after this show is over.

This episode was all about the Torosaurus and how they worked in a herd. 80's cartoon always had a message. What do cartoons do now for kids except for collect card games and fry the brains. My kid will definitely be watching all 80's cartoons. It worked for our generation pretty well.

Abakus Takeout x EL TORO colaboration in the works.

This image i sketched up is for a flyer and t-shirt graphic for my upcoming solo show at Abakus Takeout. They have been kind enough to trust me with the graphic and the total feel of the show. Things are slowly coming together for this and I can not wait for it to happen. It's going to feature new works that have not been showcased. ALL NEW WORKS. no recycled works from the past. It is going to be definitely a new and fresh look for the whole Philly street art scene. We are making waves and its time for people to take notice. Philly street art is definitely evolving rapidly to a great character based scene. No city in the world, that i know of, right now are on the same wave as we are.

So mark your calendars, its SEPTEMBER 27, 2008. You have been warned.

Stay tune for more images for the show coming up soon.

Been seriously slacking on the mighty muggs. its getting harder and harder to keep up. just as i thought i bought my last few here they go again!! so here are some pictures via toysrevil blog I might just have to abandon my marvel and star wars and focus on these guys.

GI JOE 1st wave is Cobra Commander, Duke, Snake Eyes and Storm mutha-fucking Shadow! booya bitches! A definite must.

Transformers 1st wave are Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee, Megatron and Sound-fuckin-wave! I was surprised with the Soundwave choice, i thought Starscream would make the cut. I am happy they chose him and can't wait to see what extras comes with him.
