Shake your fist in the air!
the guys at 215magazine kindly invited me to be part of their Bowl for Pres show this upcomiing election day. The guys at the Renegade art project got local artists involved to participate in a customization of their fist icon. They have been popping up on the streets of Philly for about 2 years now and even in some bars are welcoming the fist as a part of their own decor. For more info on this event please visit
BOWL FOR PRES! /
Also, make sure you get out on Nov. 4th and vote!

Black Buffet
Love em or hate em. Sean "diddy" Combs or whatever name he chooses when he wakes up is a smart and powerful business man. You dont gotta agree with his songs, but his wealth and his empire speaks louder than he ever can (and you thought that was impossible)
Today he announced that he bought the clothing brand enyce (pronounced En-i-ché) First time hearing the correct pronounciation of that brand. He talks alot in the video below, but theirs a couple points where he just goes off and blabs on how enyce and diddy will be eating fried chicken and champagne cuz enyce is now in his kitchen. Weird i know, but this man hustles. Its 5 am and he's talking like he's been awake for hours! How does he survive? I keep going back to that Nas quote "sleep is the cousin of death" but damn! man u need rest. atleast take some naps. The man is a hustler and definitely building an empire no one saw coming when he was still rapping with Mase and waving his rollies from side to side. Respect to Sean Combs, hopefully get there some day. I know this sounds like a plug for the I wanna work for Didddy tv show, but it aint. Giving props to where its due. Enjoy the show. Oh and incase your wondering who or what Black Buffet is...Puffy woke up and decided on that name this morning.

Sticker FIghter 215 edition
Been seeing the previews for the new Street Fighter and it looks amazing! Cant believe that its released in Asia right now and we are left waiting anxiously here in the states. GIVE IT TO US NOW!!!
Been playing since the 2nd one came out and the whole franchise was just so great to follow since then. Developing more and better characters. Except for T.Hawk, he sucked. Not caused he's Native American, can't you tell with that clever name? but we would just karate chop and slide across the screen with his Canadian Tuxedo vest. It was horrible.
Blanka on the other hand will pounce on you, bite your face off and jump off you while kicking you down at the same time. Freakin awesome. Although, their is a new character called EL FUERTE. A luchador has come in the ranks and will definitely have to prove himself in combat. Cant wait for the video game to drop! im such a geek.

EL TORO & SMIFF N WESSON
Dave from Methods said that when Smiff N Wesson was choosing a shirt to rock for the photo shoot, they went straight to the EL TORO tee for the fall. I heard of them before, but to be honest, don't know much about their music. I do know they have been in the game for a while and gotta respect that.
The graphic on the shirt came out bigger than expected. Really dope! Im a big fan of huge graphics on a shirt. The inks they use are also thick and when you wear the shirt it feels like armor. Heavy weight tee with a heavy ink just blankets ur whole torso.
It's dropping in a few days. Stay tuned!

Stupid Fresh!
This picture sums it all up. It was an awesome night and great people showed up. It turned out to be a successful night for Abakus and I that night. PBR was flowing like water and we even got a dude puking by the end of the night. Always a good sign that you threw a kick ass party. 12 fresh new canvases for the masses and so far 3 got sold that night. Get there before you miss out on the one you want! The show is up for a month, so definitely check it out if you missed the opening. There will be more in the future!
Thanks again to the whole Abakus Family, Matt from findingphilly.com & especially my girl Amanda who was there through the beginning of this whole show and was just there for me when I needed her. Thanks and enjoy the pictures. Uploading more from everyone once they come in.

PHILLY SKYLINE
My buddy Brad from Phillyskyline has posted something about the show today. Phillyskyline is an awesome blog on Philadelphia. I dont know how they get a ridiculous amount of great shots of buildings, especially when the Comcast building was in construction. He has that whole building documented from the ground up. Also, dig deep enough and you will see his photo essays on different blocks in Philadelphia. Awesome photogrpahy, great intelligent content, this blog surely can't be missed.

TOYS R EVIL
The guys at Toys R Evil, kindly posted something about the show on their blog today. This blog is great, it just doesnt cover the designer toy market, but also covers regular toys and movies. I always visit them atleast once a day to get the latest and greatest news from the toy world. They recently just posted great pictures of the My Little Pony project, so if you can't make it tonight (sept. 18) you can view the participants. Oddly enough some celebrity are going to be in the house and John Stamos is listed. Uncle freakin' Jessie. How cool is that? I want him to come to the Stupid Fresh show!

A beast roams at FDR
Sightings of a slow movin beast thats rummaging around FDR park.
Had some leftover cans that needed to be emptied for the Abakus show. Got to FDR and met this gnarly dude Houdini.
Houdini pointed to a spot that was full of just scribbles and also a spot where the skaters wouldn't use. Real awesome dude, he rides a body board that's hollowed out with a skateboard underneath. Also, does the old school waves around FDR. Real retro and classic lookin. He even got it featured at one of the Tony Hawk games. While painting, he got all up in some young dude just taggin up the park. The young kid mistakenly went over his piece and got a real reality check. Respect the game kid or it will fight back.
Also, Houdini borrowed a can of black paint to cross out his ex's phone number he put up around the park. Supposedly if your lookin for a good time, you should call her. Apparently, she was getting phone calls at 4am and she's calling him right after to complain. First off, some one actually calls those phone numbers written on the walls? Secondly, are you actually thinking your going to have a good time. Finally, did this ever work back in the day? Some sort of hippie code for some sexy time back in the day?
All in all, good day and if you want to find out what meal to eat before painting, i suggest this one.

EL TORO X METHODS NYC FALL 08
Another one bites the dust...
Reaper TORO coming in full effect and killing the whackness in the streets. The new Fall 08 Dreams & Nightmares line from Methods NYC will be featuring these 3 dynamic shirts. Each flavor caters to the individuals on the streets. Even though the shirts aren't loud in color the graphic will surely slice through people retinas and demand their attention short after.
Dropping in October, cop em at ur local bodega street wear shop (u gotta support the locals) and if ur in a town with out one, just head on over to Methods NYC and order from there.
Stay tune cuz their will be more shirts coming!

This episode was all about the Torosaurus and how they worked in a herd. 80's cartoon always had a message. What do cartoons do now for kids except for collect card games and fry the brains. My kid will definitely be watching all 80's cartoons. It worked for our generation pretty well.

Abakus Takeout x EL TORO colaboration in the works.
This image i sketched up is for a flyer and t-shirt graphic for my upcoming solo show at Abakus Takeout. They have been kind enough to trust me with the graphic and the total feel of the show. Things are slowly coming together for this and I can not wait for it to happen. It's going to feature new works that have not been showcased. ALL NEW WORKS. no recycled works from the past. It is going to be definitely a new and fresh look for the whole Philly street art scene. We are making waves and its time for people to take notice. Philly street art is definitely evolving rapidly to a great character based scene. No city in the world, that i know of, right now are on the same wave as we are.
So mark your calendars, its SEPTEMBER 27, 2008. You have been warned.
Stay tune for more images for the show coming up soon.

MIGHTY MUGGS X TRANSFORMERS X G.I. JOE
Been seriously slacking on the mighty muggs. its getting harder and harder to keep up. just as i thought i bought my last few here they go again!! so here are some pictures via toysrevil blog I might just have to abandon my marvel and star wars and focus on these guys.
GI JOE 1st wave is Cobra Commander, Duke, Snake Eyes and Storm mutha-fucking Shadow! booya bitches! A definite must.
Transformers 1st wave are Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee, Megatron and Sound-fuckin-wave! I was surprised with the Soundwave choice, i thought Starscream would make the cut. I am happy they chose him and can't wait to see what extras comes with him.

SEQUEL BREWING X EL TORO
So a few months ago, Matt from findingphilly.com hits me up to colaborate with him on his microbrew expedition and after a few talks we came up with the first batch EL BORRACHO.
Sequel Brewing is now born and the first batch is called EL BORRACHO. It's called Sequel Brewing because of the theme we chose for this is Rocky. This doesn't really illustrate that idea yet, but their are other beers in the works that will play on the Rocky villains.
The 2 turtles on the side top label are Rocky's turtles, Cuff & Link. and to tie in more to the rocky theme we set up an established Jan. 1st 1976. That was the date of Rocky's first fight.
EL BORRACHO is a Summer Wit brew. It has a dark golden color and the taste is bold and refreshing. It's super exclusive because this batch is limited to 2 cases. Don't worry though their will be a next batch.
Click on the picture to see more on my flickr stream.
Like Rocky were swinging till the end. Nothing can knock us out.
Thanks again to Matt for this opportunity and check out his flickr and blog here

¡Viva La Zapata!
Another canvas done this weekend. Been getting busy with some different style this time. I think its a blend between my previous techniques mixed with the new ones i recently learned. So far this has been my favorite peice, but it seems like i say that everytime i finish a new one. The next one is a strange one, that i really don't know what to do for just yet. Also i got a request to do a farmer toro with a pitchfork and corn. It's starting to shape up like "American Nightmare" painting dipped in acid in my head.
Also, many of you guys already know that toys are in production since 1 year or so ago. I just got word that the final sculpt we approved is now too big to mold. Now that leaves us back to square 1. I now have to redesign my sketch and make Toro built like a GI JOE. This means couple peices will be molded and then put together to build this behemoth. Stay tune for that cuz i think i'll start posting the process for any one who wish to know how this is done. It's been such a long task and to end up back to square 1 is a bummer. I am happy though that after this it should come out perfect and awesome. We're still shooting for a 08 release date. We'll see how that works out.
Leaving you guys with some sites for toys and just another shout out to my boys at Abakus.

ABAKUS TAKEOUT
These guys know how to do it right. I found out about this shop from my friend at http://www.findingphilly.com He actually blogged about it to.
From the outside you see ducks along with Nike SB and as soon as you get in the store you are greeted kindly and a whole new experience is upon you. They definitely thought about the details and made great use of their retail space. From the jeans in woks in the kitchen, laces in tupperware, takeout boxes and even the classic plastic food shots on the wall. It's definitely stands out from the other "street wear" shops in Philadelphia. Its only been 6 weeks since their doors opened and the hype is building up like crazy. They already got featured on the Action news tonight. Definitely do not sleep on this shop. Visit them now! They are super nice and trying to make a new mark in Chinatown. They have brands you haven't seen in Philly before and the shoe collection is gorgeous. You can visit them in here
227 N. 10th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19107
and visit them at http://www.abakustakeout.com You should check out their blog for some more tasty pictures of the shop.

ITS ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA
Possibly one of the most offensive and brutaly honest tv shows in a while and in the same time gut busting laughter. Little background for you non watchers, the characters are Dee, Mac, Dennis, Charlie and Frank, Dennis' & Dee's dad which is played by Danny Devito. The show is written and produced by all 3 and Mac directs some of the episodes along with Fred Savage. That's right, the dude from Wonder Years. It usually starts at the bar they own and then spreads out to the streets of Philly. Here's a clip from 1 of my favorite episodes where Dee ends up dating a rapper, but thinks he's mentaly retarded. So the boys feel like if he can do it, they can also be in a band.

sink or swim
Keep ya ahead afloat or go down where the sun dont shine and the creatures of the deep eat ya alive.
Been a rough couple weeks and this painting is pretty personal in a way where I think times are rough, all i gotta do is keep on swimming and stay afloat no matter what. The anchors in life will try and weigh you down to where you can't get back up, but all you gotta do is keep paddlin' and stay aflot.
